Aberdeen Reserves 1-1 Gretna Reserves

Colin McMenamin was on target for Gretna as they secured a well deserved point against a strong Aberdeen side in the SPL Reserve League. 

Andy Smith’s side took the lead after 15 minutes following good work by Fraser McLaren. The Scotland U19 International broke down the left and centered for Colin McMenamin who stroked the ball home from close range.

Colin McMenmin is congratulatedBut Aberdeen equalised on the half-hour when Steve Lovell collected a Johnathan Smith pass on the edge of the box and curled a great shot inside the post.

The Dons’ enjoyed a good spell of pressure before the break but new keeper Tony Caig kept them at bay with a string of fine saves.

Both teams searched for a winner throughout the second-half but had to settle for a point in a tight game at Brechin City’s Glebe Park.
