The Reserve sideĀ earned a creditable draw with table-toppers St Mirren following a hard-fought match at Love Street.

Gretna fielded a mixture of youth and experience with Colin McMenamin, James Grady and David Graham leading the line.

St Mirren goalkeeper Mark Howard was in fine form and kept the visitors at bay with some good saves.

At the other end, a solid display from a young back four consisting of Mario Campagna, Erik Paartalu, Nicholas Faulds and Michael Tait thwarted the home side and limited the threat to shots from distance.

Substitute Joe Hughes had the chance to win the game for Gretna in the dying minutes when put through on goal but Howard blocked his shot.

Although they had to settle for a point, it was a much improved performance from the previous outing against Motherwell.
