Baldacchino extends loan

Winger Ryan Baldacchino will spend a further month with Second Division Ayr United after extending his loan deal this week.

The 26 year-old has had a horrendous time with injuries after suffering knee ligament damage against Forfar Athletic nearly two years ago and has made just one substitute appearance for Gretna this season.

He joined the Honest Men last month and completed a much needed 90 minutes in their 2-1 defeat to Alloa Athletic and also played the full game against Partick Thistle in the Third Round of the Scottish Cup.

However, his injury jinx struck again in the following week when he picked up a calf strain in the 4-1 home defeat to Cowdenbeath.

As a result, he missed the trip to Peterhead but after opting to remain at Somerset Park, he is expected to be in their squad to face Raith Rovers this weekend.
