Grainger set for Tannadice move
Thursday, December 27th, 2007Gretna defender Danny Grainger is set to join Dundee United in the New Year after agreeing a move to Tannadice.
The 21 year-old will sign for Craig Levein’s side when the transfer window re-opens on Tuesday, bringing an end to his five-and-a-half-years at the club.
He came to Gretna as a schoolboy and worked his way through the ranks to play a part in their epic rise through the lower leagues.
After a loan spell with Brechin City in 2006, Grainger established himself as a regular in the side. He impressed with his consistently wholehearted defensive displays as the Black and Whites clinched promotion from the First Division.
And the Penrith youngster has made ten appearances in the top-flight this season, scoring on his final appearance against Kilmarnock three weeks ago.
The club would like to thank Danny for his service over the years and wish him all the best with this fantastic opportunity.
