Horwood extends loan

Sheffield United full-back Evan Horwood will remain with Gretna for an additional two weeks after the two clubs agreed a short-term extension to his four-month loan.

Horwood has started all fourteen games since his August move north of the border and has been a revelation in a Black and White shirt.

He was due to return to Bramall Lane after the clash with Champions Celtic on Saturday, but is now available for Gretna’s next three games against St Mirren today, Inverness Caley Thistle on Saturday and Morton in the Scottish Cup next weekend.

This comes after Danny Grainger’s move to Dundee United, leaving Gretna short on the left-side of defence.
