Captain Paul Murray has urged fans to come to Fir Park on Wednesday night for what could be a decisive game in Gretna’s season.

The Black and Whites lost further ground on Kilmarnock at the weekend and must beat Jim Jefferies side if they are to have any realistic chance of avoiding the drop.

Paul MurrayThe skipper knows nothing less than a win will do and hopes the fans will be in full voice when the two teams meet.

“If ever there was a game in which we need the fans more than most then Wednesday night is it,” he said.

“We understand the cost of following the team each week and it has been a difficult season.”

“We really appreciate the support and I hope we have a good turnout as it is a massive game for us. We have to win and it’s as simple as that.”

“Kilmarnock stretched their advantage over us on Sunday so we have to reduce the gap straight away. We have another game in hand and have to go to Rugby Park again before the end of the season so there is still a lot to play for.”

“We have three home games in a row now and nothing less than two victories will do for us. It is a crucial time and the next few weeks will make or break our season.”
