St Mirren Park, or Love Street as it is more commonly known, has been the home of the Buddies since 1894. They had previously played at Thistle Park, Shortroods, Abingdon, Westmarch and Fullerton Park before finally settling down at Love Street.
Traditionally the ground was largely made up of terracing and St Mirren Park at its peak could accommodate 47,000 spectators. However, the stadium has undergone major redevelopment in recent years to meet SPL requirements.
Across from the traditional Main Stand, seats were put down at the North Bank while the building of the modern West and East Stands brought the stadium up to the relevent standards.
The club have recently sold the Love Street site to supermarket for retail development and plan to move to nearby Greenhill Road for the start of next season. As well as providing funds for a new stadium, the sale will also enable the club to clear their estimated £2 million pound debts.
By Road
A relatively easy ground to find due to its close proximity to the M8 and Glasgow Airport.
From the North, South, East and West (M8)
Follow signs for Paisley & Glasgow Airport. Exit the M8 at Junction 29 (St James' Interchange) which is just after Glasgow Airport turn off if travelling east to west. Be careful not to exit on to the A737 which is signposted for Irvine. It is best to stay in the middle lane when passing the Airport as this leads naturally to the St James' Interchange exit.
At the interchange take the first left onto a dual carrigeway with some football parks on the left hand side. Follow this road and after a sharp right hand bend you should now be in Greenock Road. The stadium is only a few hundred yards from here.
By Rail
Paisley Gilmour Street is on a main line from Glasgow Central Station and is only 400 yards from the ground.
Parking
Car parking for away fans is available on Greenock road and the adjacent Murray Street and Clark Street.
Tickets
Away fans are housed in the Caledonia West Stand with admission prices as follows:
- Adults £15
- Concessions £5 (Under 16 and or 65 years old and students with a valid matriculation card)
No Smoking
It is the Policy of St Mirren Football Club that all areas of the Stadium are smoke free, and that spectators have a right to operate in a smoke-free environment. The policy came into effect on 26 March 2006.
This Policy has been developed to protect all Employees, Spectators, Service Users, Customers, Contractors and Visitors from exposure to second-hand smoke and to assist compliance with the Smoking, Health and Social Care (Scotland) Act 2005.
